Bond Resolution

2026 Bonding Resolution

Important Information for Tariffville Water District Residents

The Tariffville Water Commission is proposing funding for two important projects designed to support the safety, reliability, and long-term operation of our water system.

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 7:00 PM, a Special District Meeting will be held to allow eligible District voters to consider and vote on a proposed $1,096,160 appropriation and bond authorization. The public is welcome and encouraged to participate in this meeting. Please click the Zoom meeting link below to join virtually.

What Will the Funding Be Used For?

1. Lead Service Line Identification and Planning — Approximately $933,000

This project will help the Commission identify the materials used in water service lines throughout the District, determine which lines may contain lead and Galvanised Steel, and develop plans for any necessary replacements.

This work is part of ongoing efforts to comply with federal and state drinking water requirements and protect public health.

2. Tunxis Road Area Water Main Improvements — Approximately $163,160

This funding will support engineering and planning associated with improvements to water mains in the Tunxis Road area.

These improvements are intended to help maintain reliable water service and address the long-term needs of the system.

What Does the Bonding Resolution Mean?

The Commission’s Board of Directors has recommended that the District authorize up to $1,096,160 to finance these projects.

Bond authorization provides the legal authority to borrow funds for the approved work. It does not necessarily mean the entire authorized amount will be borrowed immediately.

The projects may qualify for financing assistance through Connecticut’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). Loan forgiveness may cover up to 50% of qualifying project expenses, subject to program eligibility and final approval. This assistance could significantly reduce the amount the District is ultimately required to repay.
